Las versiones actuales de macOS incluyen SNMP de forma predeterminada. Hay un asistente de configuración básico que puede usar para configurar SNMP en su máquina macOS.
1. Realice una copia de seguridad del archivo snmpd.conf. Por tanto, en su máquina macOS, abra la aplicación Terminal, busque el archivo snmpd.conf en /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf y guarde una copia de seguridad. Puede usar el siguiente comando:
sudo cp /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf.org
2. Adaptar el archivo snmpd.conf. En la Terminal, ingrese el siguiente comando para iniciar el asistente de configuración:
sudo snmpconf -g basic_setup
Así mismo, siga las preguntas de configuración para configurar SNMP según sus necesidades.
3. Inicie el demonio SNMP, usando el siguiente comando:
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.net-snmp.snmpd.plist
4. Seguidamente, cree sensores SNMP. En PRTG, cree un nuevo dispositivo que represente su máquina macOS utilizando la dirección IP o el nombre DNS respectivo.
Para este nuevo dispositivo, ejecute un descubrimiento automático para permitir que PRTG cree automáticamente algunos sensores SNMP. Del mismo modo, puede agregar manualmente más sensores SNMP. No todas las mediciones estarán disponibles a través de SNMP.
5. Luego, debe agregar el demonio SNMP al inicio automático, debido a que inició manualmente el demonio SNMP en el paso 3, el demonio no se ejecutará después de reiniciar su sistema macOS.
Así mismo, la mejor práctica es iniciar automáticamente el demonio SNMP al iniciar el sistema. Para agregar su demonio SNMP al inicio automático, puede editar el archivo /etc/hostconfig
En el archivo, busque la línea:
APPLETALK_HOSTNAME
y agregue la siguiente entrada antes de APPLETALK_HOSTNAME
SNMPSERVER:=-YES-
